Recently a client brought in a thrift store find to THE FRAME STUDIO that she wanted to frame. She said that she liked the original mat and just wanted a frame.  After showing her some other matting options, she fell in love with this Grey suede mat and burgundy bottom mat.  The original mat had too much texture and drew your eye away from the artwork.  The new choice of a deeper grey suede mat makes the candle light on the table the focus point, and the burgundy brings out the small pops of red in the art.  Finishing the combination off with an oxidized gold frame, adds some age and elegance ...

At THE FRAME STUDIO we meet so many talented artists who bring their work to us to be custom framed. This week we were very lucky to meet Aimee Hedman, a young artist, just starting out and who is very luck to be showing this week as part of a Student/Teacher Collaboration at Art Basel in Miami. Aimee's art comes from her heart. These pieces are of her mother, a former opera singer, who passed away on 2011. Repair/Makeover

Robert brought in this picture of a Bald eagle that he had hanging in his home for years.  He loved the piece but felt it needed a make over. With a little TLC from Mayra and Bela.  That eagle has a new lease on life. Robert chose to go with a Larson-Juhl Charcoal Antica, with a barely blue mat to accent the colors and was so pleased with the end result, he brought us a dozen doughnuts to say "Thanks!"
