Museum Treatment

Museum Treatment
When you have an extra special piece of art work, you want to make a statement with the framing.  We at THE FRAME STUDIO recently had this gem - know as a Picasso - come across our table.  The client wanted to custom frame it to show it's great importance and beauty.  A Roma Vintage frame in gold leaf was chosen to give it that museum look which was combined with a black linen mat, a Larson Chateau fillet, and museum glass to finish it off.  Now the richness of the colors is accentuated, and it looks like it was just pulled from the walls of The Louvre. We love framing exceptional  art!

The Versatility of Art

The Versatility of Art
We at THE FRAME STUDIO have always loved Marysia's painting "In His Arms I" that we found on the Artaissance website.  We recently framed two copies of the art work two different ways, to show how versatile art can be. The first combination is simple, using a 16" x 16" canvas print, and framing it (without glass) with Larson Juhl's 4 1/4" wide dark olive frame from their Belmont collection.  It creates a very simple, elegant look that can fit into a more traditional setting. The second combination uses a 12" x 12" print on paper, framed (with Museum glass) with two of Roma Moulding's shi...

In order to make it happen for the Summer 2012 London Games he thought about everything he needed to do to make this trip from the date backwards..... his marriage proposal to his fiancee and the date of the wedding were all planned around being able to honeymoon in London for the Olympics. They made it! Here is the happy couple with the program f...

On the Wall

On the Wall
Before coming to work for The Frame Studio I was lucky enough to be a client. I came in and spent a wonderful hour with Bela picking and choosing from the broad selection of custom frames from Roma, Larson Juhl, Laville, Engelson and more.  Once I decided on my frames I chose my mats and voila, after just a couple of weeks - I now have gorgeous, quality, hand made, custom framed family portraits taken by Little's Photography hanging in our family room. [caption id="attachment_1406" align="aligncenter" width="248" caption="My Family"][/caption] Just perfect!

The Art of it All

The Art of it All
Hello, my name is Bari Lynn Wiggins and I have recently joined the team here at The Frame Studio. Coming to work here at The Frame Studio has been an education in custom framing. Everyone talks about or looks for artisan products.  It is as much the "in" thing to do as farm to table, and locavore dining.  Well if you want hand crafted, well made, simply gorgeous frames in Fort Lauderdale you need to check out Bela's work.   The selection of frames to choose from is vast and includes Roma, Larson Juhl, Laville and many more, all in lots of beautiful colors and textures.  It is a simple pa...

Large Frames

Large Frames
Here at The Frame Studio, I have seen some large pieces come through our doors to be framed. This one definitely lands in the top 10 biggest framings. This painting was done by the client who brought it in. The artist decided to finish the piece with a Larson Juhl frame that is black with a silver outside. This type of style where the piece does not actually touch the edge of the frame is called a floater. So if you think you have a cool piece to frame but its too big or complicated bring it in, or we can deliver also, and you will be happily surprised with the finished product. (Béla is 6'4" ...

Prague Painting

Prague Painting
Some of my favorite framing projects that The Frame Studio clients bring in are the pictures that they bring back from their world travels. This particular piece was a painting of Prague, and the painting even without the frame is beautiful. This piece was brought in with a thin matte around it containing the artist signature so that had to stay, this is why the brown matte has different dimensions from the top to bottom. The frame is a Larson Juhl frame with a faded brown outside and a silver bevel moving towards the cream matte. All in all this came out being one of my favorites so far in my...

Concerto

Concerto
At The Frame Studio we would like to take the time to introduce a very special frame line we offer for all the frame connoisseurs out there. This line is called Concerto. What sets these frames apart, besides their extreme beauty, is the unique process it takes to finish them. Concerto frames are joined before the finish is applied. By applying the finish after the frame is joined it makes the frame seamless with no lines in the corners where the sides of the frame meet. The styling on these frames is quite wide, ranging from historical, to contemporary, to classic and modern. This particular ...

A Night at the Movies

A Night at the Movies
When a movie is as classic and unforgettable as Pulp Fiction, it is necessary for the framing to reflect that. This completed piece does this perfectly with the combination of the matte, frame and fillet. The frame is a black Larson Juhl frame with an accent of silver around the edges.  Which is exactly what you want for a dark movie room where this piece is going to hang. The black matte intentionally doesn't match the black frame or the black poster.  This creates a nice separation that makes it easier to focus on the poster.  The fillet which matches the same style as the frame really makes...
