The Art of it All

The Art of it All
Hello, my name is Bari Lynn Wiggins and I have recently joined the team here at The Frame Studio. Coming to work here at The Frame Studio has been an education in custom framing. Everyone talks about or looks for artisan products.  It is as much the "in" thing to do as farm to table, and locavore dining.  Well if you want hand crafted, well made, simply gorgeous frames in Fort Lauderdale you need to check out Bela's work.   The selection of frames to choose from is vast and includes Roma, Larson Juhl, Laville and many more, all in lots of beautiful colors and textures.  It is a simple pa...

Framing The Flag

Framing The Flag
This U.S. Marine that was stationed over in Afghanistan the day Osama Bin Laden was killed. He took this flag down in the town of Kandahar to symbolize mission completed. After bringing it back to the U.S. he decided to get it framed here at The Frame Studio in Fort Lauderdale. This is such an emotionally charged piece, that this framing will surely be passed down for generations to come, always remembering the sacrifices that were made. (It doesn't show it very well in the picture but the flag has a 3D effect to it, giving the feel that it is still blowing in the wind)

Inked Ocean Life

One of the most interesting aspects of framing are all the different types of art that are brought in to be framed here in Fort Lauderdale. This is one of my new favorite artist that I have discovered from working at The Frame Studio. This particular artists name is Alex Gupton, and his artwork is very detail oriented. In fact there is so much detail, I was informed by the client that brought in these two pieces, that each piece Gupton does he hides a three eyed fish somewhere in the artwork. I did spend the time to find the three eyed fish, it reminded me of a mutant fish from The Simpsons. T...

Prague Painting

Prague Painting
Some of my favorite framing projects that The Frame Studio clients bring in are the pictures that they bring back from their world travels. This particular piece was a painting of Prague, and the painting even without the frame is beautiful. This piece was brought in with a thin matte around it containing the artist signature so that had to stay, this is why the brown matte has different dimensions from the top to bottom. The frame is a Larson Juhl frame with a faded brown outside and a silver bevel moving towards the cream matte. All in all this came out being one of my favorites so far in my...

Ketubahs

Ketubahs
Weddings are some of the most memorable moments in our lives, so why not take the time to do an original framing that will reflect these wonderful times? These are two examples of Ketubahs that are beautifully framed. The first one, with the gold frame, is simple yet elegant moving the viewers attention to the details within the artwork outlining the ketubah. This particular piece would look very nice arranged on a wall with other pictures from the wedding complimenting the ketubah. The second ketubah would look very nice above a mantle piece as the center of attention in a room. This frame ha...

Concerto

Concerto
At The Frame Studio we would like to take the time to introduce a very special frame line we offer for all the frame connoisseurs out there. This line is called Concerto. What sets these frames apart, besides their extreme beauty, is the unique process it takes to finish them. Concerto frames are joined before the finish is applied. By applying the finish after the frame is joined it makes the frame seamless with no lines in the corners where the sides of the frame meet. The styling on these frames is quite wide, ranging from historical, to contemporary, to classic and modern. This particular ...

A Night at the Movies

A Night at the Movies
When a movie is as classic and unforgettable as Pulp Fiction, it is necessary for the framing to reflect that. This completed piece does this perfectly with the combination of the matte, frame and fillet. The frame is a black Larson Juhl frame with an accent of silver around the edges.  Which is exactly what you want for a dark movie room where this piece is going to hang. The black matte intentionally doesn't match the black frame or the black poster.  This creates a nice separation that makes it easier to focus on the poster.  The fillet which matches the same style as the frame really makes...

Coast Guard

Coast Guard
One of the great things about The Frame Studio is our staff and their years of experience in custom framing design. When a coast guardsman came in, with just a patch and a training gun, all he knew was he wanted to memorialize his latest training accomplishment. This initial thought sparked what would become a great framing project.  Béla took this framing to another level by asking the coast guardsman to bring in more patches and a picture, as well as a plaque that explained the items being framed. With the assistance of the coast guardsman, a design was laid out then the frame and mats were ...
