Framing Projects – Before and After

Reviving Your Art

Reviving Your Art
Do you have a piece of art that looks a little dated?  Fall in love with your art all over again by reframing it!  A customer brought in this Nicola Simbari print to THE FRAME STUDIO recently that she had framed quite a while ago.  She felt it needed something different.  We custom framed this piece to breathe new life into it.  The new matting colors make the art's brightness pop, the new frame balances with the size of the art better, and the museum glass takes care of the reflection so the art is more easily seen.  Now, the customer says she can't take her eyes off of it!!!

Family History Becomes a Family Heirloom

Family History Becomes a Family Heirloom
Most American families came from another country, whether it was recent, or many generations ago.  The longer time passes, the easier it is to forget your roots.  At THE FRAME STUDIO, we recently had a customer come in with his grandparents passports, that showed their routes into this country.  He wanted to have something to remind him of his family's past, so we created this custom framing package to showcase his finds.  The subtle "Suntan" mat coloring helps lessen the yellowed appearance of the documents, while the dark maple frame brings in the antique finish to pull the pieces together. ...

The Material Girl – Immortal

The Material Girl – Immortal
Something pretty "vogue" recently crossed our counter at The Frame Studio. Cody and Gary, owners of The Dive Bar on Ocean Blvd., brought in a guitar that they bought at a charity event that supported Big Brothers and Big Sisters. The guitar was signed by Madonna on her Hard Candy Tour. (A guitar you ask?  "Madonna doesn't play guitar . . . she just sings and dances" you say?  But, oh yes she did!  She played guitar in her first band The Breakfast Club, so it's kosher!) Cody and Gary knew they had to display such a find at the bar - you can't keep something that cool to yourself - so we chos...

Good, Better, Best : What should you invest?

Good, Better, Best : What should you invest?
At THE FRAME STUDIO we understand that custom framing is a very personal thing.  Each person sees things differently, each persons home is designed to their own taste and style is what you want it to be.  Additionally each person places a different value on the objects they bring into their life, including the frames that surround them. We have always worked closely with our clients to put together top of the line, custom frames that suit the art and the atmosphere where it resides for generations. To help our clients understand their options we created a display that features three ways...

The Art of it All

The Art of it All
Hello, my name is Bari Lynn Wiggins and I have recently joined the team here at The Frame Studio. Coming to work here at The Frame Studio has been an education in custom framing. Everyone talks about or looks for artisan products.  It is as much the "in" thing to do as farm to table, and locavore dining.  Well if you want hand crafted, well made, simply gorgeous frames in Fort Lauderdale you need to check out Bela's work.   The selection of frames to choose from is vast and includes Roma, Larson Juhl, Laville and many more, all in lots of beautiful colors and textures.  It is a simple pa...

Framing The Flag

Framing The Flag
This U.S. Marine that was stationed over in Afghanistan the day Osama Bin Laden was killed. He took this flag down in the town of Kandahar to symbolize mission completed. After bringing it back to the U.S. he decided to get it framed here at The Frame Studio in Fort Lauderdale. This is such an emotionally charged piece, that this framing will surely be passed down for generations to come, always remembering the sacrifices that were made. (It doesn't show it very well in the picture but the flag has a 3D effect to it, giving the feel that it is still blowing in the wind)

Wedding Framing

Wedding Framing
This framing is a great example of unconventional things that we, here at The Frame Studio,  can still frame despite the bulkiness and odd shapes of some of the items. This particular client came in with a pile of things from his wedding and he wanted them framed to surprise his wife. This gave some creative freedom as to the layout and Béla took full advantage of it while working with the client to come up with something that was suitable. To overcome the problem of objects having depth Béla made this frame into a shadow box. The final piece came out amazing, take a look for yourself.

The thought of a custom frame making any piece better seems like a no brainer, but for some reason seeing the final result makes you realize how great the artwork really is. When this painting came in my first thought was, "oh that's a nice painting", nothing more nothing less. When I started watching the frame come together, I was more inclined to comment on the frame then the art piece. That is until I saw the final piece framed. When I walked away from framing the painting and came back to it, my thoughts changed from, "ohh thats a nice piece" to " wow, that looks like it belongs in a galle...
