Framing Projects – Before and After

Reframing – 22 Years Later

Reframing – 22 Years Later
As many of us do when we graduate from college, I didn't think too much about how my diploma was framed.  I was a starving artist with big student loan payments, and went the ready-made frame way to display my diploma (see below).  This small piece of paper that I spent over $25,000 on, got jammed into a cheap frame and matt.  I went to art school!  My diploma should look a bit better than that!  Come on!  I work at THE FRAME STUDIO!  I am a picture framer! So I decided to reframe this expensive piece of paper - 22 years later. The first thing we had to contend with, was the damage that was...

Printing-Framing-Hanging
Here is a little example of how we can save you time and make our client's life much easier.  A previous client had a vision of what they wanted to do with the empty hallway walls in their Fort Lauderdale condo.  All they had to do was collect all of their favorite photos and they emailed them to us. We printed and custom framed all of them!  When they were in town, we went out and hung the photo collection.   Check out the before and after pictures.

The Difference a Frame Makes

The Difference a Frame Makes
Remember Stephen's print that won free framing at the Pine Crest School Art Show that we had a while back at THE FRAME STUDIO and Little's Photography? Stephen came in and picked out framing for his own art.  We were very impressed by his vision on just what he wanted.  He chose to combine two colors of the same frame with a wide white mat to give the art some space to breathe.  It was finished using Museum Glass to deal with glare.  And look at how it turned out! We were excited to custom frame his special artwork at THE FRAME STUDIO, and hope this helps inspire him to keep creating...

An Engagement to Remember

An Engagement to Remember
Proposals are some of THE FRAME STUDIO's favorite stories.  They can be sweet, funny, dramatic, romantic, and touching.  Our client Catie came in with a truly sweet story where the proposal was timed to go along with the sunset. (Just writing that gave me goose bumps all over again.)  She wanted to capture the romantic occasion by framing a few mementos from that evening.  We put together a modern shadow box that picked up a touch of lavender and gold from that evening's sunset.  They now have a custom framed piece that tells their story, and gives them that feeling (remember those goose...

The Power of Design…

The Power of Design…
Somebody just recently brought this Ketubah in for framing.   Their wedding was a while ago, it was neatly packed and stored away for some time.  She searched and searched for framing ideas and frame shops on-line. She didn't just want to take her precious Art anywhere.   Finally a mutual friend and client of ours recommended The Frame Studio to her and she came in.  We frame a lot of different Ketubah's, wedding invitations or shadow boxes, but have to say, this is one of the most beautiful and unique pieces we have seen.  The challenge was to find the special colors and style to complime...

The Size of Art

The Size of Art
When custom framing art for your home, not only do you have to consider the style of the environment the art is going in, but you must also consider the SIZE of the space.  We at THE FRAME STUDIO know that too many people put art that is too small on a vast wall.  The Little's Photography portrait shown here over the fireplace is 30" x 40" with  a 4 1/2" wide frame around it.  Think of how much different the space would look if the portrait was only 16 x 20!  The space in the entry way over the chairs is much larger, and the size of the portrait is 40" x 60" with 2 frames stacked that eq...

High School Mementos

High School Mementos
THE FRAME STUDIO recently had a client bring in a collection of mementos from a distinguished high school career in swimming.  We knew custom framing this selection of items was a great way to pay homage to passed accomplishments.  We chose to work with the school colors to match with the varsity letter, and added a gold bottom mat to accentuate all of the different medals in the frame.  Putting everything on the same black backing pulled it all together and made it pop.  Now the client has a great memento to be proud of that highlights his achievements.         ...

Framed Art Makes a Room

Framed Art Makes a Room
THE FRAME STUDIO Here at THE FRAME STUDIO, we believe that a room is never truly finished without framed art on the walls. Little's Photography did a fun family beach shoot with a client of ours, and they custom framed it to finish off their master bedroom.  What a difference a frame makes!

The Needs of the Many

The Needs of the Many
THE FRAME STUDIO's very own Bari Wiggins brought in 8 photographs that she had taken at Butterfly World years ago, that she still loves.  They were originally framed individually, and she decided she wanted to custom frame them to make them work together as one piece. After playing with the layout, we found something that we all loved.  Then it was just a few more steps to framing choices that would showcase the art work and tie them all together - using Roma's newest Electric Red Lavo frame with some suede matting in black and bordeaux. Ta-Da!  A cohesive framing package that shows how ...

What’s Best

What’s Best
Recently a client brought in a thrift store find to THE FRAME STUDIO that she wanted to frame. She said that she liked the original mat and just wanted a frame.  After showing her some other matting options, she fell in love with this Grey suede mat and burgundy bottom mat.  The original mat had too much texture and drew your eye away from the artwork.  The new choice of a deeper grey suede mat makes the candle light on the table the focus point, and the burgundy brings out the small pops of red in the art.  Finishing the combination off with an oxidized gold frame, adds some age and elegance ...
